Description:
Aurora Solar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on full-stack development for machine-learning infrastructure and geographic data services.
The role involves maintaining and improving backend infrastructure for ML and Geo systems, including evaluation, regression, test coverage, dataset storage, model training, and imagery processing.
The engineer will develop and deploy frontend features and provide guidance on teammates' projects.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of team services, participating in on-call rotations, contributing to machine-learning pipeline development, and ensuring application reliability through automated tests.
The position supports Aurora's mission to make solar design more accurate and accessible.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an academic background or equivalent skills in computer science or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Python and backend web development is required.
At least 1 year of experience in crafting user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React is necessary.
Candidates should have 1 year of experience with GraphQL.
Familiarity with computer vision and machine learning concepts is expected.
Demonstrated skills in design, development, technical documentation, architecture, build systems, code refactoring, and testing are essential.
Effective communication skills are required, including the ability to describe complex concepts clearly and provide concise project updates.
Strong collaboration skills in pairing with other developers and participating in code reviews are necessary.
A strong alignment with Aurora's values and a passion for renewable energy is essential.
