Remote Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack (Lead)

Description:

• UpKeep is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join one of their Scrum teams, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
• The role involves collaborating with product and project managers to create and execute new projects.
• Daily responsibilities include coding, participating in standups and other Scrum meetings, conducting code reviews, mentoring fellow engineers, addressing challenges, drafting Requests For Change, and breaking down epics and project charters into detailed ticketed work.
• The company provides mobile-first SaaS solutions, Industrial IoT sensors, data analytics tools, advanced enterprise integrations, and professional services.
• UpKeep is a Series B tech startup with over 100 team members across the US.
• The successful candidate will design, develop, test, improve, and deploy systems that serve users, drive designs of major software components, and work closely with engineering and product managers.
• They will analyze website performance, participate in code review, deployment, and improvements to the ability to ship reliable code, and support other engineers through technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on programming experience in Javascript.
• Proficiency in API and services development, working with databases, and query optimization.
• Experience with technologies such as Node.js, Express, PostgresDB, MongoDB, SQL, and React.
• Experience operating and maintaining live web services, troubleshooting live issues, and developing fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience building web apps using components, CSS, HTML, and front-end Javascript libraries like React and React Query.
• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
