Description:

thatgamecompany is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Golang for their game Sky: Children of the Light.
The role involves developing and scaling backend services that handle a large number of concurrent users, ensuring a reliable and low latency experience.
Responsibilities include creating and maintaining high volume Golang services, working with designers on new gameplay systems, deploying microservices, monitoring and diagnosing live environment issues, guiding backend technology and architecture design, and reviewing Pull Requests from other engineers.

Requirements:

Candidates should be fans of TGC games and excited about enhancing player experiences.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working on backend systems for MMOs or high-volume, low-latency web services is required.
Proficiency in Golang is essential.
Deep experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis is necessary.
Candidates must be comfortable deploying containerized services to a Kubernetes cluster.
Familiarity with both microservice and monolith architectures is required.
Expertise in using Git is essential.
Experience in creating unit tests, stress tests, and integration tests is necessary.
Proficiency in debugging within network environments is required.
It is preferred to have experience with multiple cloud providers like AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Erlang, C++, or functional programming, and Perforce for source control.
