Description:
This is a remote position, and candidates must be based in the United States Eastern time zones.
The Frontend Platform Squad aims to provide the best user journeys by building tools for searching and navigating the Grafana experience.
Responsibilities include iterating on Grafana’s navigation based on customer feedback, improving search and organization experiences, maintaining internationalization in five languages, and building Grafana’s design system.
The squad focuses on consistency, reliability, scalability, being blameless, user and data support, and accessibility.
The role involves designing, building, operating, and maintaining critical systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability.
The engineer will work with the team to deliver new features and iterate based on results.
The position includes driving projects from ideation to operations, mentoring team members, and participating in product discussions.
The first project will likely focus on the Query Library, helping users access meaningful data faster.
Requirements:
Candidates must have solid experience in building full stack applications, ideally using Go and React, following best practices, documentation, and testing.
Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and building services on top of it is required.
Experience in delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product in a self-driven manner is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with developing software that runs in the cloud or some experience with systems engineering.
Comfort in working in a remote-first company and understanding the importance of communication is essential.
Candidates should value autonomy and decision-making over committees and red tape.
A willingness to learn and grow is important, as there is significant room for development.
The ability to transform ideas into working code, design solutions, gather feedback, and write prototypes independently is required.
Enjoyment of working on complex solutions and as part of a team is necessary, with a focus on collaboration, kindness, and respect.

The base compensation range for this role is USD 148,505 - USD 178,206, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
