The Senior Software Engineer will help scale the next generation Research Platform to support Freenome's mission.
This role involves collaboration with Product Managers and other engineers to drive innovation and contribute to Freenome's success.
The position is remote and reports to the engineering management team.
Responsibilities include developing and supporting computing and data platforms, understanding user needs, building tools for distributed workflows, optimizing Kubernetes clusters, collaborating with teammates, providing technical support, and championing platform engineering best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience as a software engineer, particularly in shipping reliable production systems as part of platform and backend teams.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with other high-level programming languages is required.
Experience managing cloud-native services and infrastructure on public cloud providers like GCP or Azure is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with Docker and container orchestration frameworks, preferably Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code is essential.
A proactive attitude towards performance, efficiency, and usability improvements is expected.
Strong communication and documentation skills, along with high empathy for users, are required.
The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment is essential.
A BS or higher in computer science or a related technical field, or comparable experience, is required.
Benefits:
The target salary range for new hires in the US is $131,325 - $201,000.
