Description:

  • The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for writing clean and efficient code based on product specifications and participating in the entire development life cycle.
  • They will create and promote modern web UI development and develop modular, maintainable components for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet using technologies like React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • The engineer will be a technical leader on the team, implementing features in TypeScript and integrating with back-end Kotlin/Java services running on AWS.
  • They will develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline implementations for tests, linting, deployment, etc., and take part in code reviews and architectural discussions with other team members.
  • Mentoring junior engineers on code quality and best practices, developing services that can consume, process, and act on millions of user actions within Smartsheet, and enhancing existing application code with new features are also part of the role.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience is required for this position.
  • The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Java, C#, Ruby, etc.) and Web Technologies (React, Typescript).
  • 2+ years of experience in SaaS application development is necessary.
  • Experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks, and integrating with back-end services is a must.
  • Successful experience in an environment with frequent production releases and writing complex asynchronous code that communicates with multiple services is required.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • The candidate must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
