Description:
Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to work remotely from the United States for one of their clients.
The role involves scaling a next-generation research platform aimed at developing innovative solutions in cancer research.
Responsibilities include designing and building robust infrastructure, data platforms, and workflows that support research and development efforts.
The engineer will work closely with engineers, product managers, and scientists to optimize data pipelines and distributed systems while ensuring reliability and efficiency at scale.
Key accountabilities include designing and scaling computing and data platforms, building tools for orchestrating distributed workflows, optimizing Kubernetes clusters, and managing high-throughput batch processing systems.
The engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of a modern data architecture, including a Data Lakehouse, while advocating for platform engineering best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience as a software engineer, particularly in platform or backend development.
Proficiency in Python is required, along with familiarity with additional high-level programming languages.
Experience with cloud-native services and managing storage and compute infrastructure on GCP, Azure, or other public cloud providers is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including container orchestration, is essential.
Candidates should have experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and debugging are required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally are essential.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $131,325 - $201,000, depending on experience and location.
