Remote Senior Software Engineer II, AI Validation Platform

Description:

• Cruise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead initiatives within the AI Validation Platform team, focusing on scaling, driving efficiency, and high utilization of cutting-edge GPUs and custom on-premise hardware.
• The role involves owning core platform components, services, and the runtime environment, analyzing and improving system efficiency, scalability, and reliability, proactively driving improvements across product areas, and working on large-scale initiatives to enhance Cruise's engineering standards.
• The successful candidate will have experience building large-scale distributed systems, expertise in Go or similar programming languages, experience with cloud platforms like GCP or Azure, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
• Bonus points for hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Slurm at scale, driving efficiency of GPU workloads, experience with high-performance computing (HPC), familiarity with inference and/or simulations, and active participation in the open-source community.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven record of building large-scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in Go, or similar programming languages.
• Experience installing, configuring, and running applications on Linux.
• Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or Azure.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with ever-evolving priorities.
• Highly effective collaboration and influencing skills.
