As a Backend Senior Software Engineer II, you will own key parts of the product, guiding them from concept to completion with a customer-driven focus.

Your role includes developing consumer-grade software for claims, payments, and insurance management, powered by AI models for faster turnarounds and improved customer experience.

The position involves building a modern commercial insurance platform that provides a seamless experience for brokers and fleet owners from quote to claim.
You will engage with GenAI technologies to ship features that enhance user experiences and deliver actionable safety information to prevent accidents.
Leading technical initiatives, you will collaborate with other engineers through RFCs, code reviews, and architectural proposals.
The development stack includes React, TypeScript, GraphQL for the frontend, and Go for the backend, primarily using AWS and Terraform.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience building backend/cloud services using Go, Node.js, Python, or similar technologies, with proficiency in cloud/microservice architecture.
A design-oriented mindset is required, with an interest in UI/UX to create scalable design systems and collaborate with designers and product specialists.
Experience in measuring and monitoring complex systems using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry is essential, with a focus on preventing incidents and improving service performance.
Strong engineering fundamentals are necessary, including the ability to break down complex systems into reusable components and design interfaces for user consumption.
You should be comfortable owning large parts of the product and driving development and roadmap decisions.
A user-focused approach is crucial, with an understanding of how code impacts user experience in terms of performance, security, and usability.
You must demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and the ability to operate independently.
Clear and open communication skills are essential, including the ability to provide thoughtful code reviews and constructive feedback.
