Remote Senior Software Engineer II, Backend - Requests (Remote Eligible)

Description:

• Join a team of 5 engineers to develop new experiences and services for managing update and approval requests
• Work on green field projects and new user experiences in a distributed architecture
• Build scalable back-end services using Kotlin and Java for next-generation applications at Smartsheet
• Solve complex distributed systems problems and utilize modern cloud infrastructure like AWS and Kubernetes
• Lead code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers on best practices
• Collaborate closely with product management and other business areas to drive innovation

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software development experience in building highly scalable applications
• Proficiency in full stack technologies such as Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript for at least 7 years
• 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, etc.
• Ability to develop, document, and support REST APIs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
