Description:

  • Narvar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their Data Engineering team.
  • The role involves leading, designing, and building data pipelines and systems that efficiently store, process, and analyze large and complex datasets.
  • Data products are central to Narvar’s business strategy and competitive advantage, impacting the entire business, partners, and millions of consumers globally.
  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing data pipelines that handle large volumes of data, processing terabytes of data to deliver actionable insights using technologies such as Spark, Airflow, Google Pubsub, Pulsar, BigQuery, and DBT.
  • The engineer will collaborate with data scientists and other teams to integrate data into business processes and decision-making.
  • Maintaining and optimizing existing data systems for cost, ease of access, and data governance is also a key responsibility.
  • The role requires improving data quality by building tooling, testing, and observability pipelines.
  • Staying updated with the latest advances in data engineering and implementing new technologies as needed is essential.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field is required.
  • Candidates must have 7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Golang, Scala, or Python is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and data structures is required.
  • Expert SQL skills are essential for this position.
  • Hands-on experience in building big data processing systems is a must.
  • Experience with cloud technology stacks, such as GCP or AWS and their product offerings, is required.
  • Candidates should have experience dealing with large amounts of data in production and building distributed data processing using frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, Apache Beam, or Flink.
  • Experience with large-scale data warehousing architecture, data lakes, and data modeling is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Data Ops and data reliability is required.
  • Experience with error handling, data validation, and dbt models is essential.
  • Previous startup experience is strongly preferred.
