Remote Senior Software Engineer II, Fleet Management

Description:

• Design and implement efficient, scalable, and reliable backend systems to support fleet management initiatives at Cruise
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to develop new features and functionality
• Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external customers
• Write high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code
• Develop and maintain frontend applications for a rich user experience
• Own the technical design and architecture of projects within the domain
• Mentor other engineers, provide feedback on code and architecture reviews
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure high availability and performance of services
• Own deployed code to the live production fleet of autonomous vehicles

Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in CS, Math, Physics, or equivalent real-world experience
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer focusing on backend development and microservices architecture
• Broad knowledge of cloud computing platforms, API design and deployment, distributed systems, microservice-based architectures, datastores, compute deployment strategies, security vulnerabilities, and web frontend development
• Experience with software development best practices, testing, code reviews, and agile methodologies
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong product sense and awareness of the value proposition of products being built
• Passion for self-driving technology and its impact on the world
