Description:

  • Cruise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to assist in constructing and maintaining a platform as a service offering for application execution at Cruise.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure on public cloud and on-premises, developing networking solutions for low latency communication between autonomous vehicles and Cruise services, writing high-quality code and tests, collaborating with engineers for application deployments, owning technical projects from start to finish, participating in team planning and design discussions, and promoting software engineering best practices.
  • The role involves working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with high visibility and immediate impact, focusing on distributed systems, cloud environments, and networking technologies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in designing, building, and operating production systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in distributed systems, cloud environments, and networking technologies.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to both engineers and non-engineers.
  • Ability to write understandable, testable code with an emphasis on maintainability.
  • Attention to detail and a drive to enhance surrounding processes and systems.
  • Understanding of the business and operational implications of different technology choices.
  • Passion for self-driving technology and its potential impact on society.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in CS, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience.
