• The role involves designing and building scalable systems and tooling to support the growing product engineering function.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining infrastructure, systems, and tooling for Dandy’s products in a secure and performant manner.
• The engineer will focus on enhancing developer experience and productivity across frontend applications.
• Educating product teams on frontend best practices, including accessibility and testing, is a key part of the role.
• The engineer will author and contribute to internal libraries that emphasize intuitive interfaces and composability.
• Collaboration with the design team to improve the consistency and usage of the design system is expected.
• The role requires crafting code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
• The engineer will work to reinvent an analog experience and disrupt a legacy industry through innovative system design.
• Collaboration with Product Engineers and other stakeholders is essential to maintain high quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Advocating for improvements to infrastructure quality, security, and performance is part of the job.
• The engineer will identify technical debt and propose and implement solutions.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high growth startup environment.
• Expertise in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js is required.
• Strong familiarity with build tools and package managers (e.g., webpack, esbuild, vite, rsbuild, npm, yarn) is necessary.
• Experience in improving, maintaining, and debugging frontend infrastructure, including build tools and CI pipelines, is essential.
• Candidates should have experience with infrastructure as code platforms like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience in creating and maintaining automated CI/CD build processes for multiple environments is required.
• A collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset is essential for this role.
• The ability to communicate complex technical problems and propose iterative solutions is necessary.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems, along with the ability to diagnose and prevent these issues, is required.
• Comfort working in a highly agile and iterative software development process is essential.
