Description:
Join the Search API team at Mapbox as a Senior Software Engineer to enhance the quality of the geocoding search engine
Responsible for optimizing algorithms in Node.JS to develop a top-tier search engine and expand search-specific knowledge
Design and implement scalable services for API and search engines, adhering to best practices for deployment, resiliency, and observability
Engage in end-to-end feature implementation within the search organization, review code and design documents, and participate in an on-call rotation
Evaluate the quality, reliability, and capacity requirements of user-facing search products
Collaborate with product owners, sales engineering, and management to influence future product direction
Mentor other software engineers to enhance their engineering skill sets
Requirements:
Must have 4+ years of industry experience
Proficiency in Javascript and Node.js is essential
Experience with Relational Databases and SQL, specifically Postgres
Familiarity with building highly-available API services in container-based environments like Docker, ECS on AWS
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams
Experience in implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests using tools like Jest, Codebuild
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
