Description:

  • Cruise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join the Simulation group, specifically the Scenario Generation team, responsible for developing tools for scenario generation at scale for testing and training the autonomous vehicle driving policy.
  • The role involves designing and implementing algorithms, APIs, and end-to-end solutions for Cruise's Scenario Generation toolkit.
  • Collaborating with customers to create testing and training scenarios, working with specialists to deploy algorithms and ML models into the simulation stack, and defining metrics to evaluate simulation scenario correctness and realism.
  • The position requires experience in Python or C++ in a production environment, computational geometry, time-series data analysis, NumPy, SciPy, Python bindings for C++, front-end development with TypeScript/JavaScript, and familiarity with React and Node.Js.
  • Additionally, candidates should have at least 4 years of experience in robotics, proficiency in developing automation scripts using Python and Bash, and strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Bonus points are awarded for experience with ROS, Mapbox GL JS, build systems like Bazel, Buck, Blaze, or Cmake, and expertise in sensor technologies such as Lidar, Radar, and Camera.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python or C++ in a production environment, including unit testing, code review, and algorithm performance considerations.
  • Experience with computational geometry, linear algebra, and time-series data analysis.
  • Familiarity with NumPy, SciPy, Python bindings for C++, and plotting/visualization libraries.
  • Knowledge of front-end development using TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Node.Js.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of robotics.
  • Ability to develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
