Description:
As a Senior Frontend Engineer - II in the UI team, you will work on the platform powering the Sumo Logic Frontend Web Application that empowers our customers to monitor and troubleshoot their applications.
You will be responsible for building rich user interfaces primarily for our mission-critical high-availability analytics platform using React and TypeScript.
You will participate in user experience design, architecture initiatives, and lead regular code reviews with a major focus on ease of use, visual appeal, re-usability, and performance.
You will build and maintain tooling for Developer Productivity and Experience.
You will instrument and measure UI performance with well-defined SLIs to provide a best-in-class experience for customers.
You will collaborate with feature teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices.
You will write detailed design documents and documentation on platform level design items and their implementation.
You will promote cross-team awareness.
You will mentor junior engineers and improve software development processes.
Requirements:
A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Sciences or a related discipline is required.
You must have 6+ years of experience delivering enterprise-class JavaScript web applications.
Expertise in JavaScript/ES6/Typescript and 3+ years of experience with React is essential.
Experience with NodeJS and Frontend Build Tools like Webpack / Vite is required.
You should have expertise in modern testing frameworks (e.g., React Testing Library, Jest, Karma, Cypress).
Experience dealing with open-ended problem statements is necessary.
You must have experience working in an Agile development environment.
Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers is required.
You should be comfortable working with a remote team operating in multiple time zones.
You must be comfortable communicating about your work with both technical and non-technical team members, including fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts.
Experience working in teams with a heavy emphasis on Automation and Quality (CI/CD) is necessary.
You should be a team player, able to take and give constructive feedback and apply it from code reviews to 1-1s.
