The role of Senior Software Engineer | Infrastructure involves working with a cross-functional team to solve a wide range of engineering challenges and owning projects from inception to production scaling.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of AWS or an equivalent cloud provider and will assist in constructing upcoming versions of the database infrastructure.
Responsibilities include influencing and implementing the next generation of Ramp's database and infrastructure, working with cloud-native technologies, building abstractions within Terraform, solving scaling and performance problems, and participating in an On Call rotation.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems is preferred.
Production experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
The candidate must have the ability to think through customer requirements and devise high-impact solutions quickly.
Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, specifically Terraform, is necessary.
Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language is required.
Deep experience in one of the following areas is essential: large-scale SQL database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), real-time queue systems (e.g., Kafka, Celery, SQS, Temporal), or container orchestration/web server administration (ECS/Kubernetes, Load Balancing, Gunicorn, Flask).
