Remote Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure Focus

Description:

• Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on infrastructure to join their globally-distributed and rapidly growing team.
• The role involves working on the software that automates and manages the cloud infrastructure for customer deployments, including hundreds of Kubernetes clusters across clouds.
• Responsibilities include developing features for core infrastructure, scaling the flagship product Astro for data orchestration, and ensuring system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• The position requires collaboration with core runtime, platform, and other product teams to enhance the overall data orchestration platform.

Requirements:

• Must have experience in building and operating large, complex SaaS infrastructures at scale.
• Knowledge of fleet management is essential.
• Proficiency in Golang, Java, or similar languages is required, with a willingness to learn Golang.
• Previous experience with distributed systems, preferably Kubernetes, is beneficial.
• Understanding of building with security in mind to integrate securely with customer environments.
• Ability to lead the development of new features or services for a large complex system with performance constraints.
