Description:

Kong is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Insomnia team, which is a full-lifecycle API development platform.
The position is remote and based in Canada.
The role involves working with a globally distributed team to build the desktop Insomnia application, the accompanying Insomnia CLI, and other related products.
Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, designers, and leaders to create meaningful product experiences.
The engineer will engage with the Insomnia open source community and help maintain strong engineering standards through discussions, decision reviews, and pull requests.
Additional minor responsibilities may be required to contribute to building a great product within a small team.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess strong coding skills, focusing on creating understandable and maintainable software while collaborating effectively with others.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as demonstrated through the quality of technical specifications, discourse, and feedback.
Empathy for teammates and end users is crucial, influencing the usability of the product, the quality of code, and collaboration with others.
A willingness to learn and expand knowledge is expected.
Bonus points for candidates with an understanding of building software outside the web sandbox, as Insomnia often requires engineering for specific platforms like Electron.
