Description:

Lunar Energy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in the UK.
The role involves building platform infrastructure to ingest and process large streams of data in real time using AWS primitives.
The engineer will focus on integrating 3rd party hardware into the Gridshare Cloud platform.
Responsibilities include assessing the quality of control methods for new devices in collaboration with 3rd party technical teams.
The position requires testing new devices and managing test groups.
The engineer will maintain documentation on the state of each integration and the products and services it supports.
Support for operational teams in issue resolution or ad hoc requests related to devices or their data is also required.
The role includes supporting Lunar's engagement in standards bodies related to the control and management of Distributed Energy Resources (DER), including attending relevant conferences.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Experience in strongly typed languages such as Typescript, Rust, or others is required.
The position requires experience working with IoT devices in the cloud.
Working experience with Unix operating systems is necessary.
Candidates should enjoy working in a smaller team where they can see the impact of their work.
A willingness to learn and an open mind towards new information and ideas is essential.
Desirable skills include experience with the functional programming paradigm, AWS, serverless technologies, and infrastructure as code.
Experience with Machine Learning in Python and interfacing with external stakeholders is preferred.
Professional experience in the renewable energy sector or an interest in green tech is also desirable.
