Description:
The iOS Developer Experience team at Block focuses on building infrastructure and tools to enhance the iOS development process, ensuring speed and efficiency at scale.
The team works on improving the local IDE and CI experience within a massive and modularized monorepo codebase.
They are heavily invested in Bazel, aiming to accelerate iOS developer experience, with significant improvements already achieved in compilation speed and CI turnaround.
The work is done openly on GitHub, with a focus on contributing to Bazel, maintaining Xcode integration, delivering Bazel Remote Execution, and managing a CDN-based remote caching system.
Requirements:
Passion for accelerating development velocity and enhancing developer experience.
Experience leading projects to increase developer velocity.
Proficiency with build and CI tools like Jenkins, BuildKite, fastlane, etc.
Strong software engineering knowledge and the ability to provide technical mentorship.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with Bazel/Blaze/Buck build systems.
Experience in reverse engineering Xcode, macOS, or iOS software.
Knowledge of iOS/Mac development languages and tooling (Swift, Objective-C, xcodebuild, clang, swift, ld, actool, ibtool, codesign).
Proficiency in Starlark, Python, and Ruby.
