Description:
TreviPay is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Java to join their team in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The role involves delivering high-quality, well-tested software from front to back, emphasizing security and maintainability.
The engineer will lead a team responsible for developing and maintaining a system that client end-users interact with daily, including well-designed APIs and user experiences.
Responsibilities include ensuring a consistent approach to technology application, researching and applying technical changes for team efficiency, and maintaining an architectural vision for the product.
The engineer will mentor and coach junior staff members, observe and monitor the system in production, and provide on-call support.
Collaboration with engineering, product management, internal stakeholders, designers, and clients is essential to deliver on commitments.

Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership within software engineering teams is required.
Experience in building modern, secure, maintainable, and high-performance software is essential.
A strong understanding of and experience integrating with APIs and external web services is necessary.
Proficiency in Java and SpringBoot frameworks is required.
Experience with AWS or Heroku cloud platforms is a plus.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deploying to a cloud platform is needed.
Experience with distributed systems is important.
Fintech experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
