Remote Senior Software Engineer (Jenkins)

Description:

• The Senior Developer Experience (DevEx) Software Engineer will join the team focused on improving the overall experience for all Engineers at Vestwell by enhancing tooling, infrastructure, and documentation.
• Responsibilities include enhancing the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) infrastructure, empowering developers and test engineers to write, test, and deploy code efficiently.
• The role involves working closely with the SDET team, DevOps team, and agile Engineering Squads to streamline the development lifecycle and drive operational excellence.
• Day-to-day tasks include improving and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, developing automation tools, collaborating on capturing GitHub settings using Terraform, providing guidance to development teams, and advocating for new technologies and practices.
• The position requires a proactive approach to issue resolution, strong communication and teamwork skills, and proficiency in Jenkins, Groovy pipeline scripts, scripting languages, Terraform, AWS cloud services, Linux environments, and Docker/containerization.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Experience roles.
• Strong experience with Jenkins, Groovy pipeline scripts, and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, and other relevant tools for scalable infrastructure.
• Proficiency in working with Linux environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Extra: Docker and Containerization experience for efficient deployment and management of services.
