Quora is a remote-first company, allowing this position to be performed remotely from multiple countries.
The mission of Quora is to grow and share the world’s knowledge through its products, Quora and Poe.
The Machine Learning team at Quora has over 100 ML models in production, impacting over a hundred million users monthly.
The role involves building a company-wide ML development platform, solving technical problems in Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, and High Performance Computing.
Responsibilities include architecting, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems for ML workflows, developing services using open-source technologies, owning critical infrastructure, resolving production issues, and collaborating with ML engineers.

Requirements:

Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
A minimum of 2 years of industry experience in Machine Learning, Infrastructure, or related fields is required.
Experience in building and owning end-to-end machine learning or data science-related systems is necessary.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience writing production code in Python, C++, or a similar language.
A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Preferred qualifications include strong communication skills, experience with ML teams, and familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or similar technologies.
Hands-on experience with AWS technologies like EC2, EBS, S3, and EKS is also preferred.

For US candidates, the salary range is $183,647 - $267,615 USD plus equity and benefits.
