Remote Senior Software Engineer, Marketplace

Description:

• Develop high-availability services to enhance the performance, scalability, security, and operational efficiency of Apartment List's marketplace operations.
• Collaborate with Data Science and other technical experts to advance data-driven decision-making.
• Build and optimize search algorithms focusing on personalization and user experience.
• Implement new technologies to maintain high system performance.
• Influence the broader engineering organization through engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with technical specialists to improve developer experience.
• Write robust backend services in Go and Ruby.
• Craft responsive frontend applications using Typescript and React.
• See your ideas implemented in a product that helps renters find homes.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in organizations emphasizing highly scalable and performant services.
• Attention to detail and ability to implement creative and technically sound solutions.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in relational database design and management.
• Ability to tackle problems at all levels of software development.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
• Constant learner with a willingness to try new technologies.
• Experience with Go, Ruby, and Typescript programming languages or a willingness to learn.
• Experience with search engines (Elastic or Solr) and/or working with a data science team is a plus.
