Description:
Jobber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Product Software Engineering team, focusing on real-world problems that help small businesses succeed.
The role involves collaborating with a Scrum team to build an industry-leading product, influencing both the product and the team while developing personal skills.
Responsibilities include being involved in the full life-cycle of a feature, writing technical design documents, using observability tools, performing platform upgrades, diagnosing mobile issues, improving mobile tests, participating in code reviews, facilitating discussions, advocating for best practices, and mentoring junior teammates.
The McMobile team is crucial for managing dependencies, coordinating testing processes, and ensuring the performance of iOS and Android apps.
Jobber promotes a collaborative environment with autonomy in decision-making and a focus on continuous learning and professional growth.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a demonstrated level of senior software engineering experience on a full stack or dedicated mobile development team.
Experience with the entire software development lifecycle in the Agile/Scrum framework is required.
A strong systems focus on building foundational software for large-scale applications is essential.
A user-centric mindset with an emphasis on performance and usability is necessary.
Candidates should be able to quickly move between different features and projects and have a strong interest in experimentation.
Enthusiasm for delivering value early and often to customers is expected.
A structured understanding of common front-end/mobile frameworks, architectures, technologies, and patterns is required.
An inquisitive mindset with the ability to ask questions and seek new information is important.
The ability to self-serve, take initiative, and find necessary resources is essential.
Experience in providing technical mentorship and sharing industry best practices is required.
It would be beneficial to have experience in a tech leadership role focused on mobile observability and instrumentation, cross-platform and native expertise, hands-on experience with GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, React, and E2E test suites.
