Description:

LiveKit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Agents team, focusing on shaping the future of AI and technology.
The role involves architecting and building services like LiveKit Ingress, Egress, and SIP, which connect the LiveKit core infrastructure to broader media and telecommunications ecosystems.
Responsibilities include ideating new methods to integrate low latency real-time media into existing workflows, architecting resilient systems, and actively monitoring and optimizing critical systems.
The position requires working with technologies such as Golang, psrpc, GStreamer, RTP, SIP, WHIP, HLS/DASH, and various media codecs including H.264, HEVC, VP9, AV1, and Opus.
Candidates should be passionate about learning new media technologies and applying them in innovative ways.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a strong understanding of media processing and video encoding technologies, including their trade-offs.
Familiarity with the challenges of distributed consensus and synchronization in distributed media processing systems is essential.
Applicants should be able to comprehend complex systems at a granular level and manage significant complexity in their thought processes.
A proven ability to craft fast, reliable, and practical code is required, along with a reputation for solving tough technical problems.
The ideal candidate should be a fast learner, capable of quickly picking up new languages and tools, and able to clearly explain complex technical concepts to others.
