Description:
The Senior Software Engineer for Membership will work with the Membership team to build and maintain systems that provide various benefits to users.
This role impacts millions of users internationally by adding, extending, or debugging subscription features.
The engineer will collaborate with engineering leaders, product partners, and designers to break down complex features into manageable milestones.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of tasks from start to finish, collaborating with product owners and QA to ensure high-quality contributions, and reviewing pull requests from team members.
The engineer will participate in on-call shifts to respond to incidents affecting subscription services and will diagnose issues to implement long-term solutions.
Requirements:
Candidates should have an education that provides a strong understanding of computer science principles and design patterns, such as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education.
A minimum of 8 years of experience as a software engineer, with significant backend development experience for large-scale systems, is required.
Experience in distributed systems or microservice architecture, handling complex integrations and scalability challenges is necessary.
Proficiency in Typescript/NodeJS and Golang is required.
Candidates should have experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgresDB, MariaDB, or MongoDB.
Experience in building cloud-native scalable applications using AWS or GCP, including technologies like API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, and EKS is essential.
Willingness to be on-call on a rotational basis is required.
Ability to write clean, functional, high-quality, and testable code is necessary.
Experience in designing and implementing subscription-based models, including billing cycles and churn analysis, is required.
Candidates should be self-managing and capable of efficiently completing projects.
A positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills are essential, along with a desire to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
