Description:
Weights & Biases is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead efforts in scaling metrics and storage engines for their AI developer platform.
The role involves making technical decisions to maximize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness as the platform grows to handle petabytes of data.
Responsibilities include scaling a platform that ingests and queries terabytes of data daily, defining architecture for next-generation data systems, and advising development teams on building scalable services.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience, particularly with high-scale APIs.
A demonstrated record of successfully leading complex projects from planning to execution is required.
The ability to mentor and grow junior engineers is essential.
Deep experience in designing and scaling customer-facing APIs in production is necessary, preferably with systems like MySQL/Postgres, Bigtable, and Kafka.
Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply.
A strong grasp of at least one higher-level programming language and its ecosystem (such as Go, Python, or TypeScript) is needed.
Candidates should be willing to debug issues at any layer of the tech stack, from the application layer to the network.
A demonstrated ability to think critically under pressure is also required.
