Description:
Serve Robotics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Navigation and Behavior Planning to work remotely in the USA.
The role involves researching, developing, and implementing technologies for planning in semi-structured environments such as intersections and busy pathways.
The engineer will develop state-of-the-art algorithms to enable robots to safely and reliably plan complex maneuvers.
Responsibilities include developing advanced behavior planning algorithms for autonomous robots and collaborating closely with the perception and navigation team.
The position requires conducting extensive testing in simulated environments and real-world scenarios to validate and refine behavior planning algorithms.
The engineer will lead developments to enhance the robot's ability to reduce failure and correct inefficiencies while integrating primitive robot skills into high-level plans.
Comprehensive documentation of code, algorithms, and system designs must be maintained.
Requirements:
A Master’s degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in Robotics, AI, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have a deep understanding of behavior planning algorithms such as state machines, behavior trees, policy learning, and probabilistic planning.
Experience in debugging and addressing long tail hard case autonomy scenarios encountered by robotics systems using suitable behavior planning is necessary.
Knowledge of machine learning techniques, particularly in behavior prediction and planning, is essential.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python for writing and maintaining efficient and scalable code are required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
