Remote Senior Software Engineer - Network as a Service

Description:

• Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Network as a Service team, with the option to work in San Francisco, Austin, Seattle, Los Angeles, or remotely in the US.
• The company operates a large network that powers websites and Internet properties for a diverse range of customers.
• Cloudflare's Network Services product suite offers connectivity, scale, and performance to customers' network infrastructure and private networks.
• The role involves working on various projects such as a Linux kernel-based networking dataplane, userspace networking service, network software on hardware appliances, next-generation firewall functions, flow and log collection systems, and control plane systems.
• As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a team to deliver new features, enhance performance, and improve scalability of Network Services products.
• Desired skills include experience in building large-scale distributed systems, systems-level programming in Rust and/or Go, expertise in networking protocols, RESTful APIs, data pipelines, debugging, and optimization.
• The compensation varies based on location and experience level, with estimated annual salaries provided for different locations and levels.

Requirements:

• Experience in building and shipping large-scale, reliable, highly distributed systems.
• Proficiency in systems-level programming, especially in Rust and/or Go.
• Expertise in L2, L3, and/or L4 networking protocols.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel networking primitives like netfilter, nftables, eBPF, tc, and network namespaces.
• Ability to design and integrate RESTful APIs and backend systems.
• Experience with large-scale distributed data pipelines and data analysis.
• Strong debugging and optimization skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to drive the design, development, and deployment process.
• Collaboration skills to work across teams and find sustainable solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
