Description:
The position is for a Senior Software Engineer at Nivoda Capital, located in Spain, and is a fully remote role.
This role is ideal for a seasoned backend engineer who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building impactful financial technology.
The engineer will be responsible for developing and evolving credit decision-making and risk management systems to help customers enhance their cash flow while minimizing risk exposure.
The role involves close collaboration with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical innovations for a global B2B platform.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for credit risk and transaction monitoring.
The engineer will lead technical projects and architecture decisions within the Capital Risk team.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, data, and engineering, is essential to define technical requirements.
The engineer will write clean, maintainable code and enforce best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues in a timely manner is a critical part of the job.
Providing technical mentorship and support to junior engineers is also expected.
Ensuring system performance, reliability, and security across all applications is a key accountability.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of backend development experience, primarily with Node.js and Postgres or similar RDBMS.
A strong understanding of JavaScript backend ecosystems and libraries is required.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases is considered a plus.
Solid knowledge of system architecture and design patterns is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable navigating the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience with credit, underwriting, or risk systems is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
