Remote Senior Software Engineer - Observability - App Platform (Remote, NASA)

Description:

• Grafana Cloud is an observability platform integrating metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana for customers to utilize open-source observability software without the burden of managing their own stack.
• The Observability department focuses on enabling developers to monitor their applications' health and performance in any environment by providing tools for code instrumentation, data ingestion, and visualization.

• The role involves building a platform for app developers within the Grafana Cloud ecosystem, including providing an SDK, infrastructure, and configuration management compatible with Kubernetes API.
• Responsibilities include building SDK for app developers, creating aggregated Kubernetes API servers architecture, writing integration tests, developing secure storage solutions, and automating operational tasks.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of remote work experience.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes or a public Cloud for software operations.
• Experience in public Cloud or Kubernetes system architecture, including CRDs and Aggregated API Servers.
• Background in working on large SaaS platforms dealing with distributed systems challenges.
• Strong understanding of storage solutions, particularly relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
• Deep care for developer and user experience and product quality.
• Experience in end-to-end project delivery, from requirements gathering to product shipping.
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software and mentor junior engineers.
• Capability to tackle complex challenges, break them down, and deliver modular solutions iteratively.
• Willingness to collaborate across teams, align work with stakeholders' needs, and be open to feedback.
