Description:
Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their data observability platform, which is a key part of their expansion strategy.
The role involves contributing to the design, development, and vision of Astro’s data observability platform.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and implement observability and governance features.
Responsibilities include continuously evaluating and improving the architecture and implementation of the observability platform.
The position focuses on enhancing the overall usability, reliability, and scalability of the platform.
The role is remote-first and part of a globally-distributed team dedicated to empowering data teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong focus on helping customers gain visibility and actionable insights through observability offerings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to find common ground.
A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is necessary.
Experience in fast-paced startup environments is preferred.
Proficiency in Golang is required.
Candidates should have experience with SQL and OLAP databases.
Experience with distributed systems and stream processing is necessary.
Familiarity with software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation, and debugging, is required.
Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role ranges from CA$190,000 to CA$220,000, depending on leveling and geography.
