Veracross is seeking a Senior PHP Engineer with deep expertise in PHP and the Laravel framework.
The role involves building the next-generation Magnus Health product for nurses, school administrators, students, and parents.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications.
The engineer will collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality code, optimize performance, and ensure technical quality.
The position requires collaboration with software engineers to align solutions with business direction and technical objectives.
The engineer will report to the Software Architect and will have the opportunity to impact technical and architectural decisions.
The role supports a continuous delivery environment, working with DevOps Engineers and utilizing AWS services.
Responsibilities also include troubleshooting complex technical issues, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have extensive experience in PHP and Laravel (5+ years), with experience in Inertia being an advantage.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns is required.
Expertise in RESTful APIs, including designing, integrating, and securing APIs for scalable web applications is necessary.
Proficiency with database technologies, including relational databases such as MySQL and ORM frameworks like Eloquent, is essential.
Experience with JavaScript front-end technologies, particularly Vue.js, is required.
Proficiency with Git for managing source code is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, automated testing, and deployment to AWS.
A strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker is required.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in breaking down tasks and estimating development efforts.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
