Description:

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Software Engineer to work full-time on the Swiss table reservation system Foratable.
Foratable is a revolutionary reservation system developed by Lunchgate AG that enhances guest experiences by changing how restaurants manage, market, and sell their capacity.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will join an international team of software engineers to create the next-generation platform, implement new features, and enhance the product.
This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact platform and product development.
Responsibilities include building new features with the product team using PHP 8 or Java, maintaining and improving existing functionality in PHP 8, writing unit tests and functional tests for added functionality, supporting the design and implementation of architectural principles, and closely interacting with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers.

Requirements:

A Master's degree and 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering are required.
Candidates should have good knowledge about data structures, algorithms, and data types.
Experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing is necessary.
A passion for teamwork, code quality, and agile techniques such as CI/CD, automated testing, and trunk-based development is essential.
A good understanding of Functional Programming, Event Sourcing, and CQRS is required.
Experience with Java (Spring) is mandatory.
Experience with a language like Haskell, Scala, or Rust is a plus.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
