Remote Senior Software Engineer, Platform

Description:

• Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Platform team responsible for Astro's Public API, authentication, authorization, billing and alerting frameworks, common UI components, and the general reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the Astro Platform.
• The role involves contributing to the design, development, and vision of Astro Platform’s architecture and components.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, implement features, and iterate on engineering org features.
• Working with front end developers, product management, and customers to deliver customer-facing features like public APIs and UI experiences.
• Continuously evaluating and improving the platform's architecture and implementation.
• Contributing to the overall platform usability, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements:

• Strong focus on delivering performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments.
• Proficiency in Golang, Typescript, SQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with software development best practices like code reviews, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation, and debugging.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts through architectural diagrams.

Benefits:

• The estimated salary for this role ranges from CA$190,000 - CA$220,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package.
