BlackSky is a real-time intelligence company that operates a space-based intelligence platform providing satellite imagery, automated analytics, and high-frequency monitoring.
The Senior Software Engineer will join the Platform Analytics team, working with a group of industry veterans passionate about quality software development.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and documenting data services for scalable solutions focused on low latency processing.
The engineer will collaborate with various teams to design interfaces and implementations for analytics-related services.
The role involves maintaining platform analytics production services and providing feedback during design sessions and code reviews.
Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least five years of experience developing production software.
Strong software engineering skills are required to produce clean, well-documented, tested, and scalable solutions.
Proficiency in designing, implementing, and using REST APIs is necessary.
Fluency in Python is required, with the ability to work in other languages as needed.
Familiarity with common database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL, is essential.
Experience managing data and services in a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP, or MS Azure is preferred.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
