Description:

BlackSky is a real-time intelligence company that operates a space-based intelligence platform providing satellite imagery, automated analytics, and high-frequency monitoring.
The Senior Software Engineer will join the Platform Analytics team, which consists of industry veterans passionate about writing quality software.
The role involves designing, integrating, launching, and improving machine learning and computer vision algorithms and pipelines for geospatial applications.
Responsibilities include designing and documenting data services for low latency processing, collaborating with various teams, maintaining production services, providing feedback during design sessions, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least five years of experience developing production software.
Strong software engineering skills are required to produce clean, well-documented, tested, and scalable solutions.
Proficiency in designing, implementing, and using REST APIs is necessary.
Fluency in Python is required, and candidates should be comfortable with other programming languages as needed.
Familiarity with common database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, is essential.
Experience managing data and services in a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP, or MS Azure is preferred.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
