Description:

We are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to build out our growing cloud infrastructure and HPC platform with a solid understanding of Linux, cloud, and distributed computing.
The role involves designing, building, deploying, and maintaining resilient and scalable services and High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in the cloud.
You will scale systems and improve operational efficiency through extensive automation.
Collaboration with the software engineering team on continuous delivery and deployment is essential.
Responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure and applications for uptime and resource utilization, identifying performance bottlenecks, troubleshooting and mitigating system issues, and developing solutions to improve reliability and performance.
You will maintain detailed documentation of system build and operational procedures and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience in Python or Go is necessary.
At least 3 years of Linux systems engineering and operational experience is required.
Experience with AWS services and infrastructure is essential.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD tools/systems is required.
Preferred skills include proficiency in shell scripting and at least one other language, such as Python or Go.
The ability to dive into unfamiliar code bases to troubleshoot and resolve issues is preferred.
Previous experience with container-based solutions like Docker and Kubernetes (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting) is advantageous.
Knowledge of Linux kernel tuning, networking, and performance optimization is preferred.
Experience with deployment management tools like ArgoCD and managing multi-petabyte scale network-attached storage (NAS) is beneficial.
A strong desire to learn and implement new technologies, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is essential.

The position offers a competitive base pay range of $150,280—$239,000 USD, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
