Description:

• Timely is a company focused on building scheduling tools for schools to save time and improve resource allocation.
• The Senior Software Engineer position emphasizes frontend development (70% frontend, 30% backend).
• The role involves leading the design and development of user-facing features for Timely’s core web application using React for the frontend and Python for the backend.
• Responsibilities include owning the development of key app enhancements, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and contributing to improving development processes.
• The engineer will provide technical leadership, troubleshoot customer issues, and mentor junior engineers.
• Projects may include creating data visualization capabilities, refining drag-and-drop interfaces, and enabling course prerequisites within the product.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in full-stack development, ideally with experience in React, Python, AWS, and MongoDB.
• Advanced knowledge of React ecosystem technologies, including React hooks and state management solutions, is required.
• Proficiency with frontend build tools and testing frameworks such as Webpack, Babel, Jest, and React Testing Library is necessary.
• Experience in developing scalable web applications and working with CI/CD pipelines is essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required, especially in cross-functional environments.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach in a fast startup environment is expected.
• Prior experience in EdTech is a plus but not mandatory.
• The position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in NY or Boston.
