Description:
Change.org is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Product Growth) to join the Product Growth squad and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and product designers.
The role involves building features to increase the number of petitions through experiments and enhancing the page architecture of the homepage and "Start a Petition" page.
Change.org is a social impact business, the world's largest social change platform with 100m monthly users, and operates on a 100% user-generated revenue model.
The Senior Software Engineer will take ownership of key project components, provide technical guidance to junior team members, participate in technical planning, and drive innovation and efficiency in development processes.
The role requires a commitment to continuous professional development and enhancing leadership skills.
Requirements:
4-6 years of experience in full stack web service development, with 4 years specifically in backend technologies like Ruby on Rails and 2 years in frontend technologies such as React/JavaScript/TypeScript.
Proficiency in working effectively at scale, experience with various technologies, languages, and frameworks in the webstack, and expertise in SQL-based databases and infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Ability to deconstruct projects into action plans, fill gaps in project requirements, maintain priorities, and execute tasks proactively.
Familiarity with instrumentation, experimentation, system quality, and influencing architectural decisions for high-performant, scalable, and resilient systems.
Strong communication skills, collaboration across functions, and contribution to an open, inclusive, and transparent culture.
