Marqeta is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to work independently on the Program Experience Team by delivering software solutions through specific milestones.
The Program Experience team focuses on building and maintaining onboarding, sandbox, and portfolio migration platforms for customers.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Responsibilities include architecting and implementing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions on AWS, optimizing data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The position requires staying updated with industry trends, participating in on-call coverage, and ensuring high availability and performance in production environments.

5+ years of backend development experience with a strong emphasis on Java.
Proficiency in designing and building applications on AWS, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, SQL, NoSQL databases, and software development best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication skills.
Experience with ELT processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Familiarity with code versioning, testing, CI/CD, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.

Competitive base salary range of CAD 103,000 - 137,000 based on skills, experience, and work location.
