Description:
The Senior Software Engineer will assist in determining customer requirements using problem analysis and critical thinking skills. They will define and develop clear problem statements that represent customers’ needs and requirements in collaboration with senior team members.
This role involves designing and developing technical software solutions, including software architecture, and participating in peer reviews.
The engineer will contribute to examining systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
They will write and perform testing that aligns with a methodology agreed upon by the team or business unit.
Documentation of each aspect of an application will be required as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance.
The engineer will identify bugs and assist in the development process to fix bugs and address customer concerns.
Understanding the importance of software security is crucial, and the engineer will assist senior team members in making decisions around security.
The role includes assisting in writing infrastructure as code for cloud architecture.
A curiosity to learn and advance technical knowledge is essential.
The engineer will write and maintain high-quality documentation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience with Progress OpenEdge technologies such as OpenEdge ABL, Webspeed, RDBMS, and AppServer (PASOE).
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, and REST APIs is required.
Experience with XML, jQuery, and Ajax is considered a plus.
Familiarity with Crystal Reports is also a plus.
Experience with AWS Technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Templates, or implementing observability is advantageous.
Knowledge of object-oriented software design is necessary.
