Description:

LocalStack is a fast-growing startup focused on revolutionizing cloud development processes by providing a high-fidelity emulator and local cloud development platform.
The Senior Software Engineer will enhance and expand LocalStack's AWS core cloud emulator with new features, parity improvements, and integrations.
Responsibilities include contributing to the AWS emulator, collaborating in a Core Engineering squad, developing high-performance local cloud service emulators, and evolving LocalStack's architecture.
The candidate will also work on making the AWS emulator more robust, developing scalable support processes, and gathering customer feedback to shape product direction.
As the enterprise offering grows, the engineer will engage more closely with larger customers.

Requirements:

3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on Python development.
Strong hands-on experience with modern Python development, including type hinting, unit/integration testing, and object-oriented software design.
Demonstrated expertise in AWS services and cloud technologies, with knowledge of AWS APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and compassionate approach to tasks.
Preferred qualifications include experience with other cloud platforms, containerization technologies, DevOps practices, and open-source contributions.
