Description:
Weights & Biases is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for their Registry Platform, which is a remote position based in the US.
The engineer will own the technical architecture and evolution of the Registry product, leading the transition from a legacy Model Registry to a scalable Global Registry platform.
This role involves architecting solutions that support the needs of large foundation model builders and customers focused on ML model fine-tuning, compliance, and monitoring capabilities.
Responsibilities include leading architectural transformations, optimizing system architecture, identifying and refactoring technical debt, mentoring a team of engineers, establishing engineering best practices, collaborating with product and design teams, and interfacing with customers to gather feedback.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading significant technical initiatives or architectural changes.
Strong proficiency in Python is required.
Candidates should have strong proficiency in at least one compiled language (C++, C, C#, Go), with Go experience being a significant bonus.
Expert-level knowledge of TypeScript is necessary, with the ability to implement deep frontend optimizations and complex state management.
Advanced experience with GraphQL APIs, query optimization, and sophisticated data fetching strategies is required.
A demonstrated track record of improving performance and maintainability of complex web applications is essential.
Candidates should have experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities through technical leadership.
Comfort in diagnosing and solving difficult bugs across the full stack is necessary.
Exceptional communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
