Description:
HeartFlow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to building and delivering a distributed system for processing medical images on the cloud efficiently.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining services in the interoperability domain, continuous integration & continuous deployment pipelines, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities include owning and driving the development of multiple components within the team following software development best practices and regulatory standards.
The position requires experience in microservices architecture, API design, large-scale distributed computing systems, web services, RESTful APIs, cloud technologies (AWS), containerization (Docker), databases (RDBMS, NoSQL), Python programming, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented principles.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in Linux, continuous integration platforms, debugging distributed cloud services, software testing, DICOM and HL7 standards, enterprise imaging software development, and software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
The role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of work, experiment with new technologies, and learn about distributed systems, SaaS applications in the medical field, cloud technologies, and tools development for 24x7 operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
6+ years of relevant work experience in software development, including 6+ years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in software engineering best practices, agile methodologies, and testing of software applications.
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, containerization, databases, and programming languages like Python.
Familiarity with DICOM, HL7 standards, and enterprise imaging software development.
Experience in working with regulated environments and software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

Competitive compensation package with a base salary range of $108,000 to $164,700 (outside San Francisco Bay Area) and $119,000 to $181,475 (San Francisco Bay Area), cash bonus, and stock options.
