First Help Financial (FHF) is a fast-growing and culturally diverse company that provides auto loans to underserved customers in the U.S.
The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Engineering department to support their remarkable growth.
The position is remote and reports to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities include designing and developing major enhancements for existing products, becoming a subject matter expert for Loan Origination Systems, leading architecture to scale technology, mentoring junior developers, and driving full cycle end-to-end development.
The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to balance delivery speed and quality and will be part of an Agile team.

Requirements:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required; a master’s degree is a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in developing Microservices using Apache Spring Boot.
A minimum of 5 years of Java development experience in building large-scale web applications and APIs using object-oriented principles.
At least 5 years of experience with the Spring Framework and ORM technologies such as Hibernate and JPA.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with Oracle SQL and MS SQL.
At least 3 years of experience in Python development for scalable applications.
Hands-on experience working within the AWS ecosystem, including proficiency in creating and debugging serverless functions.
Familiarity with system design and the ability to design scalable infrastructure components.
Exposure to leading JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React is preferred.
Good knowledge of DevOps and collaboration tools like CircleCI, Jenkins, GIT, and Sonarqube.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS S3, RDS, and ELB.
Experience in developing containerized applications using Docker.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deconstruct complex problems into simple solutions.
A strong understanding of software testing approaches and a dedication to teamwork.
Full-stack development experience is required.
Experience in the Financial Services Industry is preferred.
