A company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Open-Source Server in the United States.
The role involves building scalable backend systems for cloud and enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing distributed systems components for core platform services, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and the developer community to enhance open-source systems and enable enterprise-grade capabilities.
Key accountabilities include designing and developing scalable backend services, maintaining tests for reliability, documenting system designs, building observability tools, creating operational support tools, and collaborating with internal teams and the open-source community.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of hands-on experience in building distributed systems in production environments.
A strong foundation in computer science is required, particularly in multi-threading, concurrency, and distributed computing.
Proficiency in Go, Java, or similar systems-level programming languages at an advanced to expert level is necessary.
Prior experience with open-source software, either through contributions or maintenance, is essential.
Proven experience in deploying and operating services on AWS is required; familiarity with Azure or GCP is a plus.
Candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and feedback-driven environment.

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $220,000.
